Dear Friends,
On 5 September I gave my official Last Lecture, or anti-inaugural, in the Great Hall at Sydney University.  The topic was “The Knowledge Industry and Counter-Power: Subversive Futures for Intellectual Workers”.
The event was attended by about 450 people, a statue of William Charles Wentworth (founder of U Syd), and 15 former Chancellors in oil paintings.
There is now an edited video of the lecture on YouTube.  Here is the link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PhJ_YL3_KNM&feature=youtu.be .  If that link doesn’t work, try the one on the latest post on my website www.raewynconnell.net.
The video runs for about 1 hour 10 mins and features Sue Goodwin (Faculty of Education & Social Work) introducing the event, Michael Thomson (branch president of NTEU) chairing it, Kylie Benton-Connell at the end, and the lecture in the middle.  There is also a picture of a burning tram…
Please have a look, and if you like it, pass the link on!
Best wishes, Raewyn
