ISA forum

Dear Colleagues,

The Sociology of Education Research Committee (RC04) of the International Sociological Association invites colleagues to submit abstracts for the Third Forum of Sociology that will be held in Vienna, Austria from 10-14 July, 2016. Vienna and its surroundings offer a vast array of wonderful sights and activities.

The ISA theme for the conference is “The Futures We Want: Global Sociology and the Struggles for a Better World.”   The deadline for a 300 word (maximum) abstract is 30 September, 2015.

Sociology of education sessions cover an array of topics, including: gender, race/ethnic, and immigrant access and equity in K-12 and higher education; educating emotions and bodies; dialogues with the Global South; the education of refugee children; youth and the labor market; professional ethics in education; life-long learning; social justice in education; globalization educational inequality; the future of higher education; and educational standards, school accountability and testing.  ISA accepts abstracts and papers that are to be delivered in English, Spanish, or French, depending upon the preferences of the individual session organizers.

Abstracts are to be submitted on-line at the ISA website: http://www.isa-sociology.org/forum-2016/.

We hope that you submit an abstract to an RC04 session and look forward to seeing you in Vienna next year.
